New Co-Chair and Committee Members: the 2024-25 Association Committee

Updated: Aug 25

At the 2024 Annual General Meeting, three new members of the Association Committee were confirmed for the year 2024-25. In addition, Esperanza Hughes-Salinas (OA 2018-2022), previously on the Association committee as website creator and editor, has agreed to co-chair the Association Committee with incumbent chair, Jon Boddy. See below for more information on the new committee members and new co-chair.

Esperanza Hughes-Salinas

Co-Chair
OA 2018-2022

Esperanza is a biologist who, until recently, was working at the Royal Society, the UK's national academy of science. She is now studying for a Master's in Health and International Development at the London School of Economics.

Esperanza lived in St Anselm Hall for three out of four years of her Biology BSc, spending the other year at the University of Cambridge researching renal immunology.

While at St Anselm Hall, she was first the Library Rep (setting up a successful Book Club), then Secretary, and in her final year became the President of the JCR. Esperanza led the Hall through its reopening, a difficult period after a year closure of the Hall (2020-21). As Website Secretary she built a completely new website for the Association to introduce a more modern feel, and continues to develop digital content. As Co-Chair, she hopes to bring fresh perspectives to the committee, introduce new events and collaborate with other Old Anselmians to optimise current practices.

Sandra Suresh

Social Media Secretary
OA 2021-2024

Sandra recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Data Analytics. She resides in Kuwait (born in Kerala, India) and works as a crowdfunding intern at a foundation.

During her undergraduate studies (2021-2024) at St Anselm Hall, Sandra was actively involved in various roles. In her first year, she volunteered to photograph events, with several of her photos being featured in the Aosta. In her second year, she played a key role in organizing fresher's events. By her final year, she advanced to the position of Junior Treasurer, responsible for managing and sanctioning the finances for hall events.

As the Social Media Secretary, Sandra is eager to gain experience in digital content creation and community engagement to enhance the online presence and connection among alumni. She aims to reflect the vibrant community of St Anselm Hall by creating engaging and dynamic content to build a sense of belonging among past and present members.

Reshma Prabhakar

Digital Content and Membership Manager
OA 2021-2024

Reshma graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science in 2024 and is now working full time on a graduate role in London. She stayed in Slems for all three years of University and was JCR Secretary in her final year.

She has actively organised and engaged in hall events over the years in various capacities, and has contributed towards building a vibrant and inclusive community in the Hall. Reshma takes pride in her efforts of having revamped the hall’s student social media handles and website. By regularly updating and promoting events, sharing highlights of Hall life, and creating a more prominent digital presence, she was able to create a community that felt connected to the hall and life in Slems.

She is the main photographer for events, capturing moments to share with the Association network on social media, and in her role as Membership Secretary aims to better connect with members across the world.

Ananya Divya Singh

Newsletter Editor
OA 2021-2024

After moving to Slems in September 2021 as an undergraduate, Ananya graduated in July 2024 with a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Currently situated in the northeast of England, she is employed as a Research & Development Graduate Engineer with Siemens Mobility.

Throughout her three years as an undergraduate, she was actively involved in the hall, beginning her journey as a social responsibility representative, where she organized charity book sales and night vigils. She subsequently took on the role of Junior Treasurer and ultimately served as President of the JCR committee in her final year 2023-24.

As the newsletter editor,  she maintains connections within the broader Slems Community and keeps alumni informed of current developments in the hall.
